Results from the Clouds Show

Monday, August 27th, 2007

We’d like to thank Reckless Records for giving us an ethernet (wired) connection to quicKast the Clouds performance on Friday. Their store was packed full of people, and the concert was also excellent for those watching on neokast.com. Our laptop was placed on a CD shelf right behind the band, and they were rocking so hard everything was bumping up and down backstage, including the laptop.

Why then was the quicKast still extremely stable? We took a long USB 2.0 cable and placed our camera and tripod away from the laptop. This enabled us to get a smooth camera shot with the tripod locked in place. Then all you see is the end result:

When you’re quicKasting out in the field, you have to work with what you have at each event and use it to your advantage. People watching your quicKasts can then say “How the heck did you…” :)

Special Thanks

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

We’d like to thank two F.O.N.s (Friends of Neokast), Tim and Kate, who were an integral part of making the Colabo Show live stream happen. They helped shoot and equip the quicKast, talked with the promoters, and held the streaming event together in general.

Neokast Productions would also like to thank the gallery, the artists, and the Pacific Arts Collective for allowing Neokast to be a part of their cutting-edge event.

Double Success!

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

To kick off the successful release of our new version, we quicKasted the Pacific Art Collective: Colabo Tour ‘07 in Los Angeles! It was by far the most interesting quicKast we have ever done. Check out the before and after shots. Keep in mind that these screenshots were just at our lowest settings!

Before

After

In between the magic: Neokast.

The power of quicKast is amazing to the point that we amazed ourselves last night.

Have you ever seen anything like that in your whole life? A Wall-to-Wall sea of people collaboratively creating art and enjoying music in the middle of the night?

There is no way you could have ever seen this event live without actually going there or checking it out with real time audio and video on neokast.com.

Neokast at Carifete!

Monday, August 20th, 2007

On Saturday, Neokast was pleased to quicKast the 12th Annual Chicago Carifete parade - “A Carnival Extravaganza.” The Caribbean fest was an incredible experience for those present, and with the power of quicKast, everyone around the world could view it live on neokast.com!

Special thanks to the managers of Carifete for allowing us to have the primo streaming location in the VIP Judges section.

We streamed half of the parade from there with our Sprint Mobile Broadband card. After it started raining, we then moved to the porch of a large building nearby, obtained a killer wireless N connection, and streamed at the high and highest quicKast settings due to the incredible upload bandwidth!

Keep in mind that you yourself can have these fun experiences “out in the field” with quicKast. If you plan ahead, you can make mobile broadband your last, but surprisingly not too shabby, resort. Look for possible wireless (wireless-N is very quicKast-friendly :) ) and wired networks, use your surroundings to your advantage, and start streaming where no one has streamed before…with incredible quality and unlimited viewers, of course!

Neokast “Out on the Beach” with Fishbone

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

On Sunday evening, Neokast quicKasted an incredible Fishbone performance out on Venice Beach. For those of you who have never quicKasted before, we thought it would be nice to give you a view of what happens on the producer side. This is the “Stream Preview” window that shows exactly what you are streaming out to the world:

Keep in mind that anyone out there can do exactly what we do on a regular basis with a webcam or DV cam, an Internet connection, and a PC. If you want to stream “out in the field,” get the Sierra Wireless Aircard 595U powered by Sprint Mobile Broadband Wireless EVDO Revision A. That’s what we use, the price per month is very low, and it enables you to do mobile quicKasting.

Video Production and the Neokast Silver Platter

Monday, August 13th, 2007

Suppose you want to live stream a premium event “out in the field,” and you do not want to lift a finger - you’re just too busy managing the event. You simply want a variety of services performed and do not have the time or resources to be involved in the video process.

Neokast can provide you a Silver Platter:

- Premium Internet service will be acquired for the streaming. Location does not matter to us. We can get high upload bandwidth for high bitrate live streaming almost anywhere in the country, even temporarily, and it does not cost an arm and a leg.

- Neokast Productions will be sent to your location with a full camera and production crew. They have the expertise to work or interface with any equipment out there and adapt to your needs.

- Your event will be directly streamed to your website with whatever quality you would like to support for an unlimited amount of users. Later we will have the pay-per-view option for you to charge admission to view the live stream in addition to on-demand to view the archive of the broadcast.

- Your event can be fully recorded, edited, and mastered to DVD or another format if you wish. You are also welcome to stream the pre-recorded broadcast later with a variety of qualities directly on your website.

Need something else not mentioned here? We have yet to find a live streaming request we cannot support right now or in the very near future.

ISP down last night - Sorry for the inconvenience

Saturday, August 11th, 2007

Our ISP went down last night for about fifteen hours… oops… We apologize to all of you who tried to log on and had problems. Everything should be working smoothly now. So have fun, continue QuicKasting, and keep giving us feedback!

We are opening an additional facility next week so we shouldn’t have this problem in the future. :)
