Awesome…and cute

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

Look at that. The eagle just laid some eggs and is taking care of them in the nest! You’ll also get to watch how the eagle builds to the nest while still taking care of the eggs.

This is a screenshot of our embedded player for the Neokast Beta test. It’s a live stream all the way from Sidney, British Columbia. We will be telling you a lot more about the Hancock Wildlife Foundation another time.

Did we have to go there and set up a bunch of equipment and servers? Nope. Remember we’re empowering YOU to live stream. It didn’t take much time for us to interface and set up this stream with David and Rich. Pretty soon (after we’ve made our QuicKast user friendly so that anyone can use it) you will be able to live stream your own stuff with a click of a button.

For those of you who have tried to view streams on other websites…notice how BIG our embedded player is. It covers up at least half of the screen. If that’s too small for you, you can click on the little icon on the bottom right or double-click the screen itself. It will give you a full screen view. Oh, and that image is a screenshot from a 300kbps stream. (more…)

Update BETA Rollout

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

We have started our BETA rollout phase today. Our goal during this BETA is getting out all the edges and problems that come with a wide deployment of our platform.

This said, we were lucky and already identified a couple glitches and will continue to roll out the beta.

Thank you.

What to expect while using our product

Sunday, April 1st, 2007

For those of you who have used BitTorrent in the past, you have seen that service take over your entire upload and download bandwidth. Simply viewing another website takes 5 minutes to load up.

Why is this the case for them? — Antiquated peer-to-peer protocols by design take over your upload and download bandwidth.

Neokast is a Web 3.0 company. Our technology gives rise to a Flash Crowd 3.0 service. (See our earlier posts on Flash Crowd 3.0). Web 3.0 companies do not throw unnecessary money or unnecessary load on modern day problems - problems that have the potential to transform our lives. Web 3.0 companies work intelligently to solve problems efficiently.

We would like to explain how, in using our Neokast Stream Player, you will be able to surf the ‘net and use all the applications you’re accustomed to using on your computer…all while having the Neokast Stream Player installed and running. Using cutting-edge live streaming video should never mean sacrifices on your part.

Mac will be on Neokast

Monday, March 26th, 2007

Mac will definitely be an integral part of the Neokast platform. While it will not be part of the Beta test, we have always seen Mac as a necessary and primary ingredient. The reason is very simple - Mac users produce enormous amounts of video and Neokast is a video platform. Mac users should try to sign up for the Beta test if they have access to a Windows OS. Please identify yourself as ultimately a Mac user so that you can be part of the Mac rollout.
