3 Facets of Live Streaming
Since Neokast’s main goal is to allow anyone in the world to live stream for little or no cost, there are many other facets of live streaming beyond simply “getting it to work” and simply “getting quicKast out there.” We have been looking into 3 key facets of live streaming for everyone and will be communicating what we learn to you.
When you think about making a Neokast QuicKast, there are 3 things to consider:
1. Is the quicKast technology sound?
Absolutely. If you get a “Install Neokast Stream Player” picture and link on the left side of neokast.com, go ahead and update your player. We’re learning new things about the development side of streaming daily, and we place what we learn in each new release. You’ll notice pleasant changes in your experience as each release comes out.
2. Is live streaming with quicKast “people friendly”? This stuff is definitely about 5 years ahead of it’s time.
It takes a while for people to get accustomed to the idea that our technology is indeed live and real-time, there is no uploading, downloading, buffering, or messing around with file formats with Neokast. You simply click play or click “Live Broadcast” to consume and produce, respectively.
Furthermore, we have the ability right now to put your live streaming content on your website. Pitchfork was a piece of cake. If you’re willing to work with us on a feature by feature basis, send an email to questions at neokast dot com and we will work with you to help you deliver your content before our official product releases.
3. Garbage in, Garbage out. How do I make sure I have a quality signal to stream and the proper Internet connection to give my audience the goods?
We ourselves are learning what can be useful in the streaming process and will continually be telling you about it. We also want to give you the opportunity to use exactly what Neokast Productions uses to live stream events. Again, why restrict these things to the privileged few? We want to open high quality live streaming to the world. Do you have any technical questions about equipment, analog to digital conversion, piggybacking off of a signal, directly connecting via USB 2.0 or Firewire, or simply want to know “what works great” given your particular setup? We have a full staff ready to help you with those sorts of questions.
