Vincent Dureau, Google’s head of TV technology, has sparked a lot of talk recently about Internet gridlock as a result of video downloading. But his words were, “The web infrastructure - and even Google’s - doesn’t scale - it’s not going to offer the quality of service that consumers expect.” The question is - What is the quality of service that consumers expect? If it is 50 inch HD screens which combine video on-demand maybe not yet. But then again, maybe it’s not that far off.
